Los Angeles October 9, 2002 Heavy equipment manufacturer CNH Global N.V. has gone live with a solution from provider Adexa for demand planning, inventory optimization and supply planning as part of an initiative to increase responsiveness to customer delivery requirements.
U.S.-based CNH, with $9.7 billion in 2001 revenues, is the number one manufacturer of agricultural tractors and combines in the world and the third largest maker of construction equipment.
The manufacturer has implemented Adexa's recently announced eGPS solution for the sales, inventory and operations planning process, which includes demand planning, inventory optimization and supply planning.
For its advanced order management process, CNH is implementing Adexa's available- and capable-to-promise solutions to provide reliable delivery dates to customers using both available inventory units and planned production.
By using Adexa's planning, scheduling and sequencing tools, CNH's assembly plants are aiming to further increase responsiveness to customer delivery requirements.
"At CNH, we recognize the strategic role that supply chain management plays to improve asset utilization and increase customer service," said Herbert Wolf, CNH vice president, agricultural equipment supply chain management.
CNH plans to continue deploying Adexa across its global agricultural products group in the future, according to the solution provider.
