
Amazon is looking into the possibility of acquiring some locations of vacant Toys R Us stores.
The e-commerce giant isn't interested in maintaining the Toys R Us brand, however, it would utilize the space to its own advantage. The move would expand Amazon's brick-and-mortar presence. It hasn't been disclosed what type of store would be put into place. However, Amazon has its options with grocery stores, book stores or a space to to showcase its popular Echo line of devices.
The company is under little to no pressure to hammer out a deal, though. Back in 2015, Amazon was in talks of acquiring some Radio Shack locations, but nothing came of it.
