OEM Licensing Program for Advanced Product Lifecycle Management Suite

The program enables extended product lines, new market entry and speed to market for enterprise-scale products

Andover, Mass. and Munich, GermanySept. 19, 2014Aras, a provider of enterprise product lifecycle management (PLM) software, announced an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) licensing program for its advanced PLM platform and technology. Under the program, global independent software providers (ISVs) can license, rebrand and repackage Aras’s capabilities as their own. ISVs can license the entire PLM suite or a subset of the underlying platform technology. Aras established the program as a growth strategy in response to market demand for its advanced technology.

“As global enterprise software providers move aggressively to enter new markets and deliver new functionality to customers, they have to consider how fast they can get to market with the right capabilities,” said Robert Parker, group vice president at IDC. “What Aras is doing by OEM licensing its platform technology and solutions is quite interesting because it gives ISVs a new option to consider that can help them move quickly and offer a competitive alternative.”

The Aras technology is particularly attractive to global providers of enterprise resource planning (ERP), manufacturing execution system (MES), supply chain management (SCM) and other enterprise applications that want to expand product lines and surpass competition by offering more advanced technology solutions.

“Instead of taking years to build enterprise application functionality from scratch or acquiring outdated technologies, ISVs have a new option: OEM with Aras—whether it’s our entire PLM solution suite or some specific platform functionality—and start generating revenue right away,” said Peter Schroer, president of Aras. “With our OEM program, global ISVs have access to modern enterprise software that’s market proven and works together with their existing product portfolio.”
