PLM software company names Jay Fulcher as top executive; Bryan Stolle retains chairman role
San Jose, CA — January 26, 2006 — Product lifecycle management (PLM) specialist Agile Software has named Jay B. Fulcher to the CEO post, taking over from Bryan D. Stolle, who will remain as chairman of the board
Fulcher, who had been president and chief operating officer at Agile, will assume the CEO spot on May 1. He also has been named a member of Agile's board of directors.
In a statement, Agile tied the leadership change to the new regulatory environment. "Given the demands of Sarbanes-Oxley, the CEO and chairman roles have become far more demanding, complex and time-consuming," the company said. "This change ensures that both roles receive the proper focus and attention required in today's business environment."
Fulcher has been Agile's president and COO since October 2002. During this time, Agile has doubled the size of its product line and increased its customer base to over 10,000 customers across multiple industries, according to the company.
"Jay has brought tremendous leadership to Agile in his role as president and COO over the last three years, a period where Agile has experienced record growth," said Bryan D. Stolle.
Between now and May 1, Fulcher and Stolle will work together to transition to their new roles, Agile said in its statement.
Fulcher said that as CEO he will primarily focus on revenue growth, profitability and scaling the company.
