Consumer products giant to manage business controls across world's largest global SAP deployment
Reston, VA — March 15, 2006 — Consumer products giant Procter & Gamble has selected an enterprise controls management solution from Approva to manage business controls across P&G's global SAP deployment, Approva has announced.
With almost 140,000 employees working in over 80 countries worldwide, P&G maintains the largest global deployment of SAP software in the world.
P&G will use Approva's BizRights platform and Enterprise Controls Suite to design, test, monitor and audit application controls across its global SAP deployment, including managing sensitive access and segregation of duties (SOD), supporting a compliant provisioning process for new user requests and monitoring sensitive transactions within SAP.
In addition, as part of the agreement, P&G is making its internally-developed controls management solution available to Approva to incorporate into future versions of its Enterprise Controls Suite.
Building on Capabilities
"We're excited about Approva's plans to enhance the capabilities we have developed and are looking forward to using that product to meet our own business needs," says Melanie Moody, P&G associate director for information security and solutions. "Our goals in choosing Approva are to build on the capabilities we've created and to implement the most comprehensive, scalable and cost-effective solution for monitoring SAP access controls that is commercially available."
In addition to licensing Approva's products, P&G will also become a member of Approva's Customer Advisory Council and will provide ongoing input into Approva's product direction.
"We're thrilled to add a customer of P&G's stature to our community of users," said Approva CEO Prashanth (PV) Boccasam. "P&G's selection validates our strategy of developing an independent, enterprise-class solution for managing the on-demand testing, closed-loop remediation and continuous, exception-based monitoring of controls across business systems. Enhancing our solution with the controls monitoring capabilities that P&G's has developed will represent a significant leap forward for our customers."
