RedPrairie inks OEM agreement with GEOCOMtms to combine long-haul routing and consolidation with same-day local routing and fleet deployment
Milwaukee, WI — Supply chain execution specialist RedPrairie has entered into an OEM reseller agreement with GEOCOMtms, a global provider of fleet management solutions for local pickup and delivery, in a deal that will result in an integrated solution to enable source-to-delivery visibility and control over inventory in transit, whether inbound or outbound, including long-haul and short-haul legs.
The partnership will combine RedPrairie's long-haul routing, consolidation and carrier management for inbound and outbound transportation optimization with GEOCOMtms' fleet management applications for same day local and short-haul pickup and delivery operations.
Customers using the joint offering will be able to plan, optimize, execute and track shipments in real-time from the distribution center to the retail store or business customer, regardless of the multiple transportation modes, pool points or fleet resources involved, according to the two solution providers.
In addition, the integration with RedPrairie's distribution, workforce performance management and dock door scheduling capabilities will provide workflow throughout the fulfillment and delivery process, RedPrairie said.
"By combining our comprehensive distribution and logistics suite with GEOCOMtms' fleet management applications, customers will be able to integrate logistics processes and information flow end-to-end across their supply networks," said John Jazwiec, RedPrairie company leader. "This single view of distribution, transportation and customer delivery provides a level of inventory flow control and customer service not previously available."
Michael Nark, GEOCOMtms CEO and president, added: "The real-time nature of this ... integrated solution enables companies for the fist time to use predictive fulfillment and arrival information to consistently hit customer delivery windows, with proof of delivery supported by electronic signature capture. This improves customer service, reduces delivery costs and penalties, and makes better use of fleet and driver resources."
GEOCOMtms provides integrated fleet management software for local and short-haul pickup and delivery operations. Its customers include such companies as FreshPoint, McPherson Oil Products, NAPA Auto Parts and Purolator Courier.
