Westboro, MA — February 2, 2005 — The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the main source of multilateral financing for economic, social and institutional development in Latin America and the Caribbean, said today it has selected Ascential DataStage from Ascential Corp. to populate and maintain its enhanced enterprise data warehouse.

Ascential DataStage is being used to enable the IDB to access and integrate large volumes of operational, analytical and transactional business data for improved asset and risk management, while at the same time eliminating hand-coding.

The IDB provides Latin American and Caribbean member countries with financing and technical assistance to achieve environmentally sustainable economic growth, increase competitiveness, enhance social equity and fight poverty, modernize the state, and foster free trade and regional integration.

With the data integration solution from Ascential Software, the IDB said it will be able to improve speed, accuracy and completeness of information collected on its portfolio of loans and investments, which extends across 26 Latin American and Caribbean countries. Ascential DataStage will also increase the reliability and timeliness of the IDB's enterprise data warehouse.

"International banks experience many industry-specific challenges when it comes to managing customer and operational data," said Thracy Varvoglis, executive director of industry solutions at Ascential Software. "Ascential DataStage gives the IDB an improved view of its data."

Ascential DataStage, a core component of Ascential Enterprise Integration Suite, enables companies to integrate enterprise information, regardless of the sources, targets and timeframes.
