Introduces open standards for thin-client Windows CE devices to eliminate need for proprietary hardware solutions
Lawrenceville, NJ — September 28, 2005 — Voxware Inc., a supplier of voice-driven logistics solutions, said it is now offering VoiceXML Browser, VoxBrowser, which is technology designed to voice-enable Windows CE-based devices for the logistics market.
Voxware said providers of logistics applications, as well as chief information officers (CIOs) directly, can incorporate a wide range of potential voice input devices as integral components of any logistics solution.
Tom Drury, Voxware CEO, said, "By eliminating the barriers to entry, VoxBrowser will, for the first time, allow any CIO or logistics industry solution provider to deliver thin-client voice solutions.
Drury continued, saying that the technology will reduce the total cost of ownership for the end user and allow portability and flexibility for the future. "The standard upon which VoxBrowser is built enables options for both solution providers and their customers, which previously did not exist. We have leveled the playing field for those developing voice-enabled logistics solutions."
VoxBrowser is a thin-client solution built on open systems and a Web-centric, standards-based platform. It includes speech recognition technology, Voxware's Integrated Speech Engine (VISE), designed for demanding, high-noise industrial environments, with a Text-to-Speech (TTS) engine. VoxBrowser also interfaces to any warehouse management system (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) or warehouse distribution application.
Voxware also announced VoxManager 1.0, a Web-based program that configures user access and administers the voice-enabled units powered by Voxware. VoxManager 1.0 and VoxBrowser are available immediately.
