Targets mid-market companies with five-step process for implementing sales and operations planning offering
Kansas City, MO — October 17, 2005 — Supply Chain Consultants (SCC), supplier of the Zemeter suite of supply chain management software products, has rolled out Zemeter S&OP, which provides a fixed price, five-step program intended to put a sophisticated sales and operations planning solution more easily into the hands of companies in the $100 million to $500 million range.
SCC debuted the new offering at the APICS 2005 show in Kansas City, Mo. Zemeter S&OP is a pre-configured, out-of-the-box version of Zemeter designed to support a sales and operations planning strategy for process manufacturing companies looking to leverage their supply chain as a competitive advantage, SCC said.
"The Zemeter S&OP approach allows a company to easily control its implementation costs because payments are fixed and tied to the successful completion of each of five distinct steps," said Dominick Corigliano, vice president of marketing and sales for SCC. "Zemeter S&OP focuses on what we believe is the core supply chain process (S&OP) and provides easily measurable benefits and a rapid return on investment."
SCC said that each of the five steps has quantifiable benefits, software deliverables, business process deliverables and a pre-determined cost. "This flexible approach makes it possible to implement an S&OP solution at whatever speed is best suited to each company's strategic plan and available resources," the enabler said.
The five steps in the implementation process include: understanding demand variability, analyzing inventory, demand process planning, balancing supply and demand, and sales and operations planning. A user can implement one or all of the steps and realize specific benefits and savings on each, SCC said.
The enabler said that Zemeter S&OP software features simplicity that combines a Microsoft centric platform with user-friendly desktop integration. "The end result is a very intuitive experience requiring less training and support," SCC said.
