e-Marketplace to integrate into enterprise resource planning program
Dallas and Vevey, Switzerland — August 12, 2004 — Nestle, the largest food and beverage company in the world, said it has selected the Quadrem eMarketplace as the partner for its global e-requisitioning program, part of an enterprise-wide initiative Nestle is implementing to standardize and streamline e-procurement processes.
Quadrem said it is providing Nestle solutions that support global e-requisitioning of services and indirect materials, including development and ongoing support of electronic supplier catalogues, supplier on-boarding services, and a Web-based XML platform supporting requisitioning transactions that will be integrated with Nestle's enterprise resource planning systems (ERP).
The roll out initially involves Nestle sites across Europe, North America and South America, and will expand to include operations across the rest of the world. Today, Nestle's purchasing professionals in Europe are already working with indirect materials suppliers using Quadrem's applications and services.
"We are delighted to have the world's largest food company select Quadrem as its global partner for e-requisitioning of services and indirect materials," said Mike Efting, Quadrem CEO. "We see a significant opportunity to work with Nestle to further the services of the e-marketplace that will drive value for additional [consumer packaged goods (CPG)] companies who join, as well as existing Quadrem customers."
