AIDC player to handle monochrome industrial printers, sees benefits for value-added resellers
Atlanta — August 24, 2004 — TEC America, a unit of Toshiba, has selected Century Systems of Dayton, Ohio, as its exclusive distributor for monochrome industrial printers.
Headquartered in Atlanta, TEC America is part of the Toshiba Group of companies. Toshiba TEC, headquartered in Tokyo, offers lines of electronic cash registers (ECR) and point-of-sale systems (POS) for retail and food service establishments, as well as electronic scales and thermal printers. The company had worldwide sales of $2.8 billion in 2003.
Century Systems is a national value-added master distributor to the automatic identification industry, specializing in distributing barcode printers, label software, thermal ribbons, bar code printer parts, label rewinders, thermal labels and other accessories.
"We are continually looking for ways to improve reseller relations and customer service," said Bill Hosken, president of TEC America. "We are excited to have Century Systems representing TEC America, and we are confident they will enhance the level of service, support and marketing assistance we offer our resellers and end users alike."
"Marrying Toshiba TEC's superior printer quality and advanced technology with Century Systems' technical and marketing expertise makes great business sense," said Chris Herman, vice-president of sales of Century Systems. Herman asserted that value-added resellers could expect to earn more profits selling TEC printers from Century Systems.
