Version 2.5 adds forecasting methods, improves handling of intermittent patterns to help reduce errors
Ridgefield, CT — September 21, 2004 — Real-time forecasting (RTF) solutions provider Terra Technology has released the latest version of its flagship RTF offering, adding functionality and features intended to help companies reduce forecast error rates.
Version 2.5 of Terra's Real-Time Forecasting adds two additional forecasting methods to help ensure greater forecast accuracy, and Terra said it has improved the handling of intermittent patterns, using special cases and methods when the main methods are not as effective.
In addition, Terra said it had strengthened demand pattern recognition, data analysis and intelligent selection of the most appropriate forecasting method.
The latest iteration of the solution includes standard integration with Manugistics' demand planning and fulfillment solutions, as well as customizable reporting and analysis.
Terra said that the new capabilities and functionality could help companies reduce forecast error rates by as much as 50 percent,
"Working with leading consumer goods companies has given us the opportunity to continue to resolve the complexities associated with creating the best possible demand plan," said Robert F. Byrne, president and CEO of Terra Technology. "As a result, we have increased the precision of the patent-pending forecasting engine and at the same time improved the end-user experience."
