Adds RFID, mobile and reverse logistics capabilities for 3PLs and manufacturers
Charlotte, NC August 27, 2003 V3 Systems, a provider of networked inter-enterprise supply chain software for manufacturers and 3PLs, this week announced the release of Version 4.8, which it said offers new radio frequency identification (RFID), mobile and reverse logistics capabilities for companies to extend inventory visibility and control across their enterprises.
V3's Reverse Logistics capability offers enhanced levels of granularity and control, according to the company. It can integrate with warehouse management or shipping systems to provide complete visibility for returns and aftermarket services. V3 Systems said a recent implementation of its Reverse Logistics for global 3PL TNT Express saw 78 facilities in 10 Asian countries "go live" within 90 days.
Version 4.8's RFID uses automated inbound- and outbound-logistics data collection. V3 said RFID could integrate with any legacy supply chain or warehouse management system (WMS) application, allowing customers to use their current software investment.
V3's Mobile module, introduced in August 2003, extends the company's software functionality to mobile and wireless devices to support full inventory lifecycle management, including inbound logistics management, outbound logistics management (including merge/merge-in-transit) as well as reverse and services logistics management.
