DMI Furniture claims reduced operating expenses with business intelligence solution

Atlanta — September 4, 2003 — Solution provider MAPICS has begun delivery of its MAPICS Analytics 4.0 solution, an extension of its core enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution that is designed to enable manufacturers to access, analyze and act on critical business information more efficiently.

MAPICS Analytics 4.0 provides an analytical, monitoring and reporting solution designed for various environments, including multi-site, multicurrency, and multinational operations. Information is shared via secure and automated distribution in the form of reports or graphs, making trends and issues identifiable by local, remote or mobile users.

DMI Furniture, a manufacturer, importer and marketer of office and residential furniture and an early adopter of MAPICS Analytics 4.0, wanted to improve its ability to extract and analyze critical information across the organization. With the implementation of the MAPICS Analytics solution, DMI has reduced the time it takes to extract information for the company's reporting requirements. An inquiry that took several days to research can now be completed in a matter of minutes. The company gained better access to its business information and can make decisions more quickly, improving customer responsiveness.

"We selected MAPICS due to its scalability, its user-friendliness and its ability to meet our business needs, now and in the future," said Steve Sandy, director of information technology for DMI. "With MAPICS Analytics 4.0, we have found a solution that will help us reduce our operating expenses and increase productivity. Beyond that, MAPICS Analytics also provides DMI the integrated technology base that allows our executive team to develop reports and refine their own analyses, with little or no assistance from the IT department. Users across our organization now spend less time gathering information and more time analyzing it to make better informed decisions."
