Mobile Maintenance Management

Paramus, NJ  October 28, 2002  Mercedes-Benz has tapped a mobile solution from Vertex Interactive to manage plant maintenance at one of its U.S. manufacturing operations.

Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, a division of DaimlerChrysler, will use a wireless system from XeQute Solutions, the enterprise software division of Vertex.

XeQute will implement the system at the Mercedes-Benz manufacturing plant in Alabama. The system is designed to interface with Mercedes-Benz's SAP system.

Mercedes-Benz officials said they "selected Vertex's XeQute enterprise software and services because of the company's extensive experience in interfacing applications to SAP."

Vertex Interactive is a provider of supply chain management technology, offering warehouse-, order- and transportation-management systems, among other solutions.
