RIDGEFIELD, Conn. (BUSINESS WIRE) January 24, 2001 OneChem Ltd., an operational application service provider (ASP) to the chemical industry, today announced an agreement with Eastman Chemical Co. to connect to OneChem for the purposes of communication and B2B integration to two valued suppliers, Koch Chemical and Vulcan Chemical.
Eastman intends to make it easy for our customers to do business with us, said Fred Buehler, vice president of e-business. Since both Koch and Vulcan are part of the OneChem community, Eastman saves time and money by connecting with OneChem. In this case, we connect once and gain direct transactional access to both suppliers, he added. OneChem's applications provide customers with the ability to offer real-time 24 x 7 transactions, supply chain management, supply and demand fulfillment, and customer service information.
We've connected Eastman to Koch and Vulcan and done so transparently. This reinforces our belief that no external organization should come between the buyer and seller, said Greg Corgan, president and CEO of OneChem. They each share the benefits of improved customer satisfaction, reduced transaction costs and supply chain efficiencies, while maintaining the relationships they've built over the years working together.
