ENGLEWOOD, CO March 7, 2001 Agilera, an Application Service Provider (ASP) and hosted platform provider for e-business operations, today announced that restaurant chain El Pollo Loco has selected Agilera's Extended Enterprise as the hosting platform to support its Lawson financial applications.
Agilera will integrate El Pollo Loco with its Lawson Software financial applications at its Irvine, Calif.-based headquarters and 280 restaurant locations throughout the United States.
"These are exciting times for El Pollo Loco," said Chris Slaughter, chief financial officer for El Pollo Loco. "With 100 new restaurants opening over the next five years, we must continue to focus on our core business. By implementing an ASP solution for our accounting system, we take advantage of the benefits this leading-edge technology provides. With Agilera, we can procure best-of-breed applications, and we gain a business partner that helps us meet our business challenges."
In selecting Agilera to host its financial applications, El Pollo Loco cited Agilera's extensive experience with Lawson Software and its ability to deliver fast implementation.
"Our success in transitioning financial data and hosting enterprise applications for El Pollo Loco demonstrates our ability to work with rising companies in the retail market," said Agilera President and chief operations officer Robert Unger. "El Pollo Loco is a true leader in the restaurant industry. Its early adoption of ASP technology and ability to recognize the value of hosted applications will serve the restaurant chain well as it continues to expand."
El Pollo Loco was sold by Advantica Restaurant Group, Inc. to American Securities Capital Partners, L.P. in December of 1999. Since that time, El Pollo Loco has been transitioning its system infrastructure, including financial data, to internal systems. Agilera, in conjunction with enterprise application integrator DigiTerra, is managing the transition to the Agilera-hosted solution.
