Mountain View, CAJune 3, 2002As many companies conducting e-commerce have discovered, the ability to move data from one location to another is not always the easiest task. One company facing the dilemma, ForestExpress, the transaction processing network for the paper and forest products industries, has decided to turn to Contivo, Inc., a provider of automated data integration, for help.
Contivo recently announced that ForestExpress has selected Contivo to automate the transformation of data used by its network of buyers and suppliers. Using Contivo's Enterprise Integration Modeling (EIM) Solution, ForestExpress hopes to create reusable data models based on standards like papiNet, a leading paper industry XML based standard, to automate business data translations between customers using papiNet and customers using other XML standards. ForestExpress will also use Contivo's EIM Solution to complement its webMethods integration platform, providing B2B integration of trading partners throughout the forest products supply chain.
Contivo provides a perfect solution to help resolve one of the more critical, but tedious and time-consuming aspects of integration the data transformation, said Kevin Rathie, ForestExpress vice president of technology delivery. Using Contivo's technology, we are able to create completed data models in a fraction of the time required for manual mapping. This allows us to more quickly deliver a high quality, seamless document to link suppliers and buyers.
For a rapidly expanding company like ForextExpress, managing data integration connections manually is not scalable or efficient, said Paul Koenig, vice president of marketing and alliances, Contivo. With our strategic approach to the integration of trading partners, we help reduce the costs of bringing on new partners while decreasing the time it takes to connect to the network.
