Santa Clara, CA October 8, 2002 Global Factory, a provider of distributed manufacturing operations solutions, this week announced the appointment of Daniel Poirier to the new position of senior vice president of business operations.
In his role, Poirier will be responsible for all corporate business operations including sales, professional services, customer support and business development. He will drive the strategic plan to expand the customer base, establish new alliances and build the organization for disciplined execution and steady growth.
Global Factory said Poirier brings to the company more than 20 years of senior management experience in enterprise-level systems and software sales, global alliances and field operations. Prior to joining Global Factory, Poirier was vice president of sales and marketing at Saqqara Systems Inc. where he led all customer acquisition efforts. Before joining Saqqara, he was vice president of systems platform alliances at Oracle Inc. At Oracle, Poirier developed and managed large-scale partner relationships in the enterprise and Internet markets. Poirier has held sales, marketing, and product management positions with several industry leaders, including Apple Computer, Philips Data Systems, and Xerox.
