Colorado Springs, CO November 8, 2002 VIPAR Heavy Duty (VHD), a network of independent truck parts distributors, is partnering with solution provider NxTrend Technology to create a business system for VHD's distributors.
VHD stakes a claim as North America's leading network of aftermarket truck parts wholesale distributors, with over 500 locations across the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
NxTrend, which has been in the information systems business for more than two decades, said it offers solutions designed to enable the distributor to implement best practices for inventory management, order processing, sales, customer service, warehouse logistics, electronic commerce and strategic business analysis.
VIPAR will use NxTrend's SX.enterprise solution to consolidate more than 25 different distributor wholesale distribution systems. The company is counting on the system to allow its organization to more easily embrace new technology advances, become more responsive to business changes, reduce system integration costs and implement best-practices across its entire network.
"SX.enterprise will provide our 100-plus distribution companies with a standardized business platform that incorporates best-practice wholesale distribution processes and will provide a competitive edge in our marketplace," said Robert Skyler, chief technology officer for VIPAR Heavy Duty.
Commenting on the agreement, Steve Crowley, VHD's president, said: "In today's hyper-competitive marketplace, technology differentiators are necessary to maintain competitive advantages. Our new relationship with NxTrend Technology will provide this advantage to our stockholder distributors both now and into the future."
He continued, "This alliance will enable the VHD network to rapidly deploy state-of-the-art distribution solutions, which take unnecessary costs out of the supply chain, provide a real customer-service advantage and extend our leadership position."
