Tempe, AZ December 4, 2002 Savi Technology, a provider of wireless solutions for supply chain asset management, is set to use software from ILOG to improve the visualization capabilities of its SmartChain platform and SmartChain Suite of logistics applications.
Savi, whose customers include the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Postal Service and Singapore Airlines, among others, will incorporate ILOG's JViews into its own solutions.
ILOG said that JViews has the ability to manage large volumes of complex data and information in a visually appealing way. This capability will enhance the usability of SmartChain's real-time event engine. Using ILOG JViews, Savi can also more easily customize interactive user displays for its customers, according to ILOG.
In addition, with JViews' features designed specifically for mapping, graphing and visualization, Savi expects to reduce its development time for graphic-intensive features within its SmartChain Suite by approximately 65 percent.
"We are building unique logistics applications that transform vast amounts of real-time data into actionable and visual information," said Keith Laidlaw, Savi's vice-president of software engineering. "ILOG's JViews give us the graphical and mapping flexibility we need to meet the unique challenges of delivering these mission-critical applications."
ILOG's visualization technology connects to a variety of real-time data, including data from any Universal Data Appliance Protocol (UDAP)-compliant data collection device, such as radio frequency identification (RFID), barcode and global positioning system (GPS) systems.
