Honda R&D Americas’ Dan Turk to Present at Simulation & Analysis Workshop

The presentation will look at tools for design engineers and simulation experts that Honda developed and implemented

Ann Arbor, Mich.May 22, 2014CIMdata, Inc., a global product lifecycle management (PLM) strategic management consulting and research firm, announced that Dan Turk, a principal systems engineer, Honda R&D Americas, will make a presentation at CIMdata’s upcoming Simulation & Analysis Workshop, which will take place in Cincinnati on June 25.

Honda R&D Americas developed and implemented automated computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools for design engineers and simulation experts. The tools utilize industry applications in an integrated manner that manages the flow of information and controls the automation from application to application. Turks’s presentation, “Implementing Automated CAE and Data Management,” will cover the project goals, requirements, struggles, failures and successes. The presentation will include some illustrated examples that show the integration methods and the types of solutions obtained.

CIMdata’s Simulation & Analysis Workshop is an event for industrial organizations and solution providers involved with simulation and analysis. It provides independent education and a collaborative networking environment where ideas, trends, experiences, and relationships critical to simulation and analysis germinate and take root. Attendees should expect to gain a solid understanding of current best practices and of the work that CIMdata’s Simulation & Analysis Knowledge Council is undertaking.

During his 20-year career at Honda, Turk held a variety of positions, including design engineer for the power equipment division, and systems engineer for CAE software and hardware. In his current position, he is manager of the information technology (IT) department for CAE, computer-aided testing and model-based systems engineering.
