Cambridge Systematics Expands Supply Chain & Logistics Practice

Monica and John Isbell join service provider’s freight business line

Cambridge, Mass.July 18, 2012Cambridge Systematics Inc., a provider of management and planning consulting services and information systems, appointed Monica Isbell and John Isbell to the company’s freight business line to expand its supply chain and logistics practice. Monica Isbell will be Cambridge Systematics’ new practice leader for Supply Chain and Logistics. John Isbell will work closely with Monica and other members of the freight business line to build the company’s supply chain and logistics business.

The practice, which complements and enhances its existing freight services, will allow Cambridge Systematics to more comprehensively serve the needs of its domestic and global clients. The company will utilize each of the Isbell’s extensive experience serving importers, exporters, port authorities, logistics service providers and government entities.

The Isbell’s expertise will allow Cambridge Systematics to provide a fuller array of services and solutions to enable its public and private sector clients to be more competitive in the global marketplace including:

  • Strategic analysis to support market expansion and sourcing decisions
  • Market assessments and due diligence to help guide investment, merger, and acquisition activities
  • Supply chain trend analysis and competitive benchmarking
  • Supply chain process improvements

 

Ms. Isbell has more than 32 years of experience as an international logistician, focused on helping private sector companies streamline their supply chains and optimize their processes to achieve delivery of the "perfect order." She also helped ports, departments of transportation, metropolitan planning organizations and others to develop strategies to better meet the needs of shippers and logistics service providers. Prior to joining Cambridge Systematics, she was Founder and President of Starboard Alliance Company LLC and held executive positions with Columbia Sportswear Co.; Asics Tiger Corp.; Direct Line Cargo Management Services/DHL Global Forwarding; and Sea-Land Service.

Mr. Isbell has more than 34 years of experience advancing new global supply chain concepts and constructing performance-based contracts that create effective service/value propositions for both transportation providers and users. Prior to joining Starboard Alliance in 2009, he was Director of Corporate Delivery Logistics for Nike Inc., at which he spent the past 31 years. During the last 10 of his 31 years with Nike, he directed the activities of the Corporate Delivery Logistics group, which was responsible for the strategic direction and global management of Nike’s logistics service providers delivering origin consolidation; ocean freight; and air freight of both in-line and product samples; supply chain security; and claims management.
