Atlanta — February 22, 2006 — B2B integration specialist Covast has launched its beta program for Covast EDI Accelerator for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006, designed to deliver end-to-end electronic data interchange (EDI) capabilities that extend the B2B integration capabilities of BizTalk Server.

With this solution, an enterprise can more easily and quickly integrate its EDI infrastructure with internal applications and Internet-based trading partners, Covast said. Several companies have implemented the beta version and are reporting early successes, including quick deployments and positive user feedback, the solution provider said.

Companies currently evaluating the application include: Unilin Flooring, a supplier of laminate flooring to 100 countries worldwide; Siemens Energy and Automation, a manufacturer of one of the world's broadest ranges of electrical and electronic products, systems and services to industrial and construction market customers; and ABX Logistics, one of the world's leading transport and logistics service providers with 375 offices in 30 countries.

"Since initially deploying Covast EDI Accelerator for BizTalk Server several years ago, Unilin has made dramatic improvements, including greater flexibility in the supply chain and reduced costs of interacting with customers and partners," said Hans Valcke, Internet and integration project leader at Unilin. "Now we have implemented and are currently evaluating the beta version of the Covast EDI Accelerator for BizTalk Server 2006. Beyond the previous benefits we have seen, we are extremely impressed with the new solution's scaling capabilities and its intuitive user interface."

Daan Scheer, CEO of Covast, said that the EDI Accelerator delivers "full, seamless integration" between EDI and XML, extending the capabilities of Microsoft's platform for business integration.

"By featuring rich document management, full scalability and a wide range of supported EDI formats, the Covast EDI Accelerator for BizTalk Server 2006 is the most advanced EDI solution available on the Windows platform," Scheer said.

The official release of the Covast EDI Accelerator for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 is scheduled for March 23.
