Berwyn, PA — March 14, 2006 — John Laing Homes, the second-largest privately-held homebuilding company in the United States, said it is driving growth and implementing best technology practices with SAP for Engineering, Construction and Operations (SAP EC&O).

The SAP solution set is expected to provide John Laing Homes the necessary technology framework to support and manage industry scenarios such as trade-partner relationship management, community scheduling and financial management.

Steven Scardina, vice president, IT, John Laing Homes, commented, As John Laing Homes continues to build award-winning homes and communities, we selected SAP to help us in managing our growth. SAP's clear understanding of our business and nuances, such as variant configuring for our design centers, project scheduling, bid management and community scheduling, were of paramount importance to us in this selection. We are excited to begin implementation and take a leading and innovative role in our industry with SAP's technology.

SAP for EC&O solutions, powered by the SAP NetWeaver platform, allows companies to coordinate complex projects and adopt new technologies. SAP said it encourages technology in addition to the collaborative culture at John Laing Homes, enhancing communications among trade partners, buyers and team members to help further sharpen their focus on providing the best new-home experience.

John Laing Homes will begin with implementations of software for financials, materials management, project scheduling for land management, community scheduling, escrow-close, bid management, variant configurator, and forecasting.

One of the company's leadership strategies includes enabling all team members, regardless of worksite location, to improve home-buying, construction and back-office processes. Extending access to the technology through its solid foundation, SAP will support this effort for more than 900 team members in 14 locations.

The implementation, supported by teams and resources from SAP Consulting and IDS Scheer, is expected to be complete in the second quarter of 2006.

We are proud to add John Laing Homes to our list of engineering, construction and operations customers, stated Roland Schmid, industry principal for EC&O, SAP America, Inc. The company's appreciation of SAP's industry expertise and technology will support growth as it focuses on providing quality homes throughout the nation.
