Blount Seafood selects software from Adonix to support growth, respond to changing customer requirements
Pittsburgh, PA — March 17, 2006 — Blount Seafood Corp., a Fall River, Mass.-based producer of seafood-based soups and sauces, has selected the Adonix X3 Process suite to consolidate disparate applications and support its dynamic growth and ability to respond to changing customer requirements.
Known for its commitment to superior quality in the production of fresh and frozen seafood products, Blount has been a supplier of choice for some of America's best-known foodservice distributors, soup manufacturers, retailers and restaurants.
More recently, the company has articulated a strategy that will not only help maintain its leadership in the seafood industry, but also increase its penetration into the retail and foodservice marketplace with its expanding soup and sauce line.

Adonix said its X3 Process combines the features of the company's flagship product, Adonix X3 — a Web-native enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite that integrates manufacturing, distribution, warehouse management, customer relationship management and finance functionality — with application features that address the specialized needs of the process manufacturer, including formula management, lot traceability, shelf life management, quality control and regulatory compliance.
Adonix added that it is ideally suited for companies producing food, beverage and nutritional items, as well as other batch-produced products.
In addition to implementing this industry-specific functionality, Blount Seafood will utilize Adonix X3 Process to support lean manufacturing processes, production and capacity scheduling capabilities, as well as automated data collection via radio-frequency technology.
