Plastic resins supplier to deploy Optiant solution in bid to reduce expediting costs, enhance service levels

Boston  April 17, 2006  Plastic resins company PolyOne Distribution is set to use an inventory planning and optimization solution from Optiant as part of an initiative to reduce rising expediting costs and improve customer service levels, the solution provider has announced.

PolyOne will utilize Optiant's PowerChain Suite to design a more responsive and resilient supply chain that will optimize bottom-line performance while balancing resources, total costs and service levels.

A unit of Cleveland-based PolyOne Corporation, PolyOne Distribution operates customer service centers in the United States, Canada and Mexico. PolyOne Distribution delivers a range of resins from top North American chemical companies and smaller suppliers from around the world, including Dow Chemical, BP Amoco and DuPont.

Working with the company's supply chain solutions team, Optiant will help PolyOne better manage its supply chain to meet rising customer demands for quick turnaround within the plastics industry.
