Boulder, CO May 17, 2006 Pelion Systems, a provider of lean operations management solutions, has announced that Infor, a provider of business solutions for manufacturing and distribution industries, will offer its automotive industry customers a new integrated lean manufacturing solution based on the Pelion software platform.

"We are pleased to introduce the Pelion lean operations management solution to Infor customers," said Kurt Wyman, vice president of field services for Infor Automotive North America. "Its specialized manufacturing execution capabilities will enable our customers to readily 'lean-out' their production facilities, enabling them to realize the full value of our [enterprise resource planning (ERP)] and supply chain solutions. Pelion will provide a major boost to Infor customers that are serious about taking lean to the next level."

Pelion said its lean operations management solution was designed as a complete pull-based solution. Customers can now combine their Infor solutions with Pelion software to create more agile and responsive supply chains to meet ever increasing and exacting delivery requirements, according to Pelion.

"Our research shows that unless the proper technology tools are implemented, lean initiatives often fall short of delivering the full benefits that these processes can deliver," said Jane Biddle, vice president of manufacturing research for Aberdeen Group. "The Pelion/Infor partnership addresses the growing need for integrated solutions that create lean processes and enable information flow between the factory floor and ERP systems."

"Pelion supports Infor's philosophy of enabling lean enterprises and sustaining consistent business process and productivity improvements," said Kevin Piotrowski, Infor's senior director of industry marketing. "This partnership will provide our customers with the tools they need to achieve lean success throughout the entire enterprise."
