Adds serialized container and lot management tools to TRANS4M, incorporates supply chain management and execution capabilities

Northville, MI — January 14, 2005 — Software company Infor Global Solutions has released the latest version of its TRANS4M solution for automotive enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain management.

The new release incorporates serialized container and lot management, customer-requested enhancements, new trading partners and full integration of Infor SupplyWEB 7.5, a Web-based supply chain management and execution solution.

The new tool for serialized container and lot management incorporates scanning and "first-in/first-out" (FIFO)-based consumption to enable tracking and control of serial numbers and lots from supplier to customer. TRANS4M 8.20 also adds enhancements for Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, as well as 20 new trading partners, Infor said.

The inclusion of SupplyWEB 7.5 enables suppliers to collaborate and share value-added information, use exception based alerting for unanticipated events and track key metrics and performance, according to the solution provider. Users can benefit from inventory and premium shipment cost reductions, as well as reduced stock-outs, quality defects and electronic data interchange (EDI) costs, while gaining business process enhancements with their supply base.

TRANS4M 8.20 is part of Infor's Automotive Essentials product suite developed for manufacturers in the automotive industry. Automotive Essentials currently is in use at 17 of the top 25 automotive suppliers worldwide, according to Infor.
