Easier integration seen for companies in aerospace, defense, high-tech and capital equipment using SAP solutions

Philadelphia — March 2, 2005 — Companies in aerospace, defense, high-tech and capital equipment running SAP R/3 software solution Release 4.6 have a new option for parts and service planning with the announcement this week that MCA Solutions has received SAP integration certification for its Service Planning and Optimization (SPO) version 4 software suite.

The certification means that these companies should be able to more quickly and easily integrate the MCA service parts planning solution their existing SAP software technologies. MCA said its SPO software helps companies build responsive networks for parts and service, as well as understand the cost and profitability impact on the overall business.

"The integration with SAP R/3 makes it even easier for customers to leverage data in their transaction systems to better forecast and manage their service supply chain inventory, maximizing revenue and profit opportunities," MCA said in a statement about the certification.

"Service excellence is quickly becoming a requirement, especially for companies serving high-tech, aerospace and defense," said Bob Salvucci, president and CEO of MCA Solutions. "The ability to easily and quickly integrate our technology with SAP software offerings helps us deliver even greater service to our customers, which translates into faster [return on investment]."

SPO determines the best "service" approach, even when there are various supply networks, service level agreements, variations in costs and lead times, and different supply sources, MCA said.

The Boeing Company, Cisco Systems, KLA-Tencor and Tellabs are among the companies using MCA's SPO suite.
