Mining industry manufacturer looks to align on single process for transactions with multiple customers, gain access to new business

Dallas — June 10, 2005 — Terex Africa, a subsidiary of Terex, one of the world's largest global manufacturers of mining and construction equipment, has joined Quadrem's global supplier community of more than 15,000 companies.

Terex is a diversified global manufacturer with 2004 net sales of approximately $5 billion. The company manufactures a range of equipment for use in various industries. In addition, Terex Africa is a key supplier to Anglo Coal, Anglo Platinum, De Beers and Rio Tinto, all current members of Quadrem's buying community.

"Terex is embarking on numerous projects that will enhance our ability to improve customer service levels, some through process improvements and some through system improvements," said Brian King, Terex Africa's managing director. "Joining Quadrem should enable us to become more efficient by using one process for transactions with multiple customers, while we're aligning our processes to match customers' needs."

Accessing New Business

Terex Africa also plans to use its Quadrem membership to access new business. More than 400 buying operations from 35 buyer-member companies around the world have connected to Quadrem's electronic procurement platform.

For 2004, more than $4 billion of purchase throughput passed through Quadrem's transaction hub, representing 1.2 million orders. A 20-30 percent increase in activity is expected in 2005.

"We are committed to supporting Terex's customer service initiatives and to delivering value to its operations through efficiencies, improved accuracy and compressed cycle times," added Brandon Spear, regional vice president of Quadrem Africa. "Terex is a supplier of Quadrem buyer customers in Africa and globally. It is an important addition to our supplier community."
