Deploying Jesta I.S. solution to streamline data flow with North American counterparts

New York, NY — July 29, 2005 — The Japanese subsidiary of clothier Cole Haan is set to implement a merchandise planning solution from Jesta I.S. as part of an initiative to streamline the data flow with the unit's North American counterparts.

A wholly owned subsidiary of Nike, Cole Haan has its headquarters in Yarmouth, Maine, and its Japan headquarters in Tokyo. Cole Haan Japan will be implementing the Jesta I.S. Vision Merchandising Solution at all the company's 40-plus retail stores in the Japanese market in the coming months.

Jesta said that Vision Merchandising allows international operations to receive plans globally and execute locally. Cole Haan Japan expects to maintain its retail operations by taking advantage of dynamic stock modeling, the ability to better meet demand through availability, and to achieve operational efficiency through centralized purchasing.

Cole Haan Japan will now be able to automate its business processes through integration of its core systems, including financials and warehouse management, according to Jesta. Key benefits that Cole Haan Japan will be looking to obtain include the elimination of disjointed processes and an increase in the productivity of the Cole Haan Japan staff as they gain more time to focus on strategic business issues.

The retailer will also be able to establish a broader view of pertinent information, resulting in faster decision-making with increased accuracy.

"With strategic retail expansion, we recognized the need to partner with a company that could provide us with the right inventory management system to help us grow successfully while keeping the right products in front of our customers," said John Barron, chief financial officer for Cole Haan. "I am confident that Jesta I.S., with their many years of expertise, is the partner that we are looking for."

Leslie Belcher, president for Jesta I.S., said that the company has been aiming to expand its business globally. "Retailers throughout the world are realizing the value of the vision solution and its ability to streamline business processes," Belcher said. "Cole Haan is one of several international retailers that Jesta will be working with in over the next several months. There is a large retail market out there and we see great potential for our product offering."

Other companies using Jesta solutions include Perry Ellis, UNIONBAY, Jones Apparel Group and Maidenform, among others.
