Finlandia Cheese taps Adonix to streamline, manage distribution and financial operations

Pittsburgh, PA — August 15, 2005 — Finlandia Cheese Inc., the owner of the largest brand of imported cheeses in the United States, has selected Adonix's X3 Distribution suite to streamline and manage its distribution and financial operations and improve overall access to management information.

A subsidiary of Finland-based Valio, Ltd., Finlandia Cheese Inc. distributes cheeses nationally to wholesalers, supermarkets and the Food Service industry. In addition to Swiss, Finlandia imports Muenster, Gouda, Havarti and a Light Swiss. The Finlandia brand has been in existence in the U.S. since the mid-1960s.

Finlandia Cheese will use Adonix X3 Distribution primarily for its sales order fulfillment, lot traceability, shelf life management, purchasing and financial capabilities, as well as its business intelligence tool that provides user-defined business analytics on a real-time basis.

The agreement covers the full Adonix X3 Distribution system as well as the incorporation of SmartForecasts Enterprise, a demand planning and inventory optimization solution provided by Adonix' technology partner, Smart Software Inc.

"We were looking for a fully integrated distribution-intensive software solution that will support our expansion and growth," said Michael Restivo, chief financial and operating officer for Finlandia Cheese. "Adonix X3 Distribution has the right mix of distribution functionality, food industry know-how and built-in flexibility we'll need to adapt the solution to our changing needs over the long-term."
