FKI Logistex Frederick Manufacturing Plant Gains ISO 9001:2000 Certification

Quality status for material handling specialist's facility helps meet needs of customers and contractors

Frederick, MD — August 24, 2005 — Material handling solutions provider FKI Logistex has gained ISO 9001:2000 certification for its Frederick, Md., manufacturing plant, meeting the requirements of customers and contractors by assuring them of product backed by a rigorous quality assurance process.

FKI Logistex provides material handling solutions for airports, postal facilities, parcel distribution, manufacturing operations, library automation, and for warehouse and distribution facilities. The company has manufacturing, engineering and support facilities around the world.

The Frederick certification implementation team, led by Amelia McCelvey, quality assurance manager for FKI Logistex North America, worked to achieve the ISO certification status. McCelvey and more than 150 fellow employees in the group's Frederick facility instituted a variety of measures and procedures to attain the status, including process control inspections, statistical quality control, testing, and non-conformance and final product quality evaluations. The plant's panel shop also gained UL certification during this same time period.

In addition to the Frederick facility, FKI Logistex manufacturing plants in Cincinnati, Ohio; Danville and Maysville, Ky.; St. Louis; and St. Peters, Mo., are also ISO 9001:2000 certified.
