Wilmington, DE — September 28, 2005 — Supply Chain Consultants (SCC) has released Version 4.0 of its Zemeter suite of supply chain management software products, adding features to provide greater ease of use and flexibility and capabilities for optimally combining forecasting data from multiple sources.

Building on research pioneered by Professor Robin Roundy at Cornell University, SCC said it has developed a method to optimize the process for combining different demand forecasts. These demand inputs include information statistically created by Zemeter, as well as information gathered on an exception basis through collaboration with users.

This analysis allows companies to consider the "economic significance" of including additional demand inputs from such sources as customers, sales representatives and marketing, SCC said.

"Companies cannot put in place a collaborative forecasting process without the ability to effectively and intelligently combine inputs that come from different sources," said Sujit Singh, vice president of supply chain solutions at SCC. "This has been one of the major barriers to accurate collaborative forecasting in the supply chain, and we believe Zemeter is the first commercial product that provides a viable solution to this challenge."

This latest version of Zemeter also features a new optimizer (COIN) as an option for the supply planner, as well as new methods to more effectively schedule operations. Zemeter 4.0 also provides users with an enhanced reporting and analysis capability, according to SCC.

The Zemeter suite includes Business Analyst, Collaborative Demand Planner, Supply Planner, Finite Scheduler and Order Promising (ATP/CTP). SCC said that manufacturing companies can use these Zemeter software tools to capture data that will improve supply chain performance and help make more educated business decisions.
