Open source offering designed to protect critical files, help companies comply with Sarbanes-Oxley, other regulatory mandates
Atlanta December 14, 2005 nuBridges, a provider of e-business community management solutions, has released a new enterprise-grade Linux solution for secure managed file transfer, offering a Linux-compatible solution with security and firewall navigation capabilities to give organizations more control over their FTP transactions and help them ensure regulatory compliance.
truExchange FTP for Linux is intended to securely transport critical business documents such as purchase orders, advance ship notices, point-of-sale (POS) and payroll data. truExchange FTP's security and auditing features satisfies compliance requirements for mandates such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), according to nuBridges.
The solution provider says that the software provides full tracking and auditing capabilities for all inbound and outbound transactions protected by definable user access. It further ensures compliance through various forms of encryption support including secure sockets layer/transport layer security (SSL/TLS), secure shell (SSH), Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) and secure/multipurpose Internet email extensions (S/MIME).

Paired with nuBridges truExchange Secure Transaction Manager services, it ensures the secure delivery of transactions through a company's firewall without having to manipulate those firewall rules or rebuild the network environment, according to the solution provider.
Beefed-up features include validation of inbound protocols before granting access, hacker alerts and Internet protocol (IP) address filtering/blocking. These added security features help protect organizations against unwanted visitors and enables a trusted partner network, nuBridges said.
truExchange FTP for Linux offers a portal interface for visibility to manage a large partner community by unique user views. The command-driven interface for FTP client scripting makes it possible to automate FTP processes and schedule or trigger them based on business events. The solution supports various document formats including electronic date interchange (EDI), XML, text and binary files. To affirm the security of information transfer, truExchange FTP is commonly bundled with a security protocol such as SSH or PGP.
