New hosting services offer self-service, personalized support
Pleasanton, CA — January 28, 2004 — PeopleSoft Inc. today announced the expansion of its existing hosting offerings with the introduction of a new portfolio of mid-market hosting and application management services for PeopleSoft solutions.
PeopleSoft said the new hosting services deliver an infrastructure that includes database, storage and hardware solutions designed for companies with less than $1 billion in annual revenues. It also delivers self-service capabilities and enhanced personalized support designed to meet the price-performance needs of mid-market customers, according to the company.
"Application hosting can help an organization of any size focus internal resources on core business activities and strategic initiatives," said Amy Mizoras Konary, program manager, Software Pricing Licensing and Delivery research at IDC. "However, mid-sized companies can have complex infrastructure requirements and want direct access to expert resources. Software vendors that provide application hosting and application management services specifically designed for mid-sized companies are well-positioned to solve customer needs."
PeopleSoft said the new mid-market hosting solutions provide customers with single-vendor accountability and support for upgrades and enhancements. Additionally, they include a combination of storage, database and hardware solutions; direct access to an assigned client manager with an understanding of the customer's environment; access to support services 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and a variety of self-service capabilities, including information about support cases, system availability and the performance of hosting services against contracted service level agreements.
PeopleSoft partnered with Surebridge, an application outsourcer of On Demand Solutions for mid-market companies, to deliver the hosting services for the new offerings. The company was founded in 1997 and is headquartered in Lexington, Mass.
