Los Angeles Unified School District goes live with solution to maintain more than 12,000 buildings
Bedford, MA — February 20, 2004 — The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), one of the nation's largest districts, said it has gone live with MAXIMO, MRO Software's strategic asset management solution.
MAXIMO is implemented in LAUSD's Facility Services Division (FSD). FSD provides planning; engineering; construction; and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) support to LAUSD's 947 schools and centers.
The school district said the MAXIMO implementation would replace several legacy systems, and it is expected to become the principal work planning and facilities asset management solution for LAUSD, including its 11 Local District facilities offices and central shops in support of the more than 12,000 structures with approximately 62 million square feet on 5,600 acres of land.
MRO Software said the MAXIMO Web-based architecture will enable the FSD to manage the application at one central location while supporting the business processes and information needs at geographically dispersed locations.
The LAUSD implementation team also plans to leverage the solution's architectural flexibility to integrate MAXIMO into the district's future enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. MAXIMO is expected to provide more accurate and timely cost information, eliminate duplicate data entry and facilitate improved work order management. The team will use the solution to increase facility uptime and reliability through a greater emphasis on preventive maintenance.
