Selects Procuri solution as part of initiative to cut costs, reduce complexity
Atlanta — March 23, 2004 — Kohler Co. has signed a two-year agreement to use an e-sourcing solution from Procuri within its purchasing department as part of an initiative to help achieve savings objectives, reduce complexity, gain competitive advantage and streamline sourcing processes company-wide.
Founded in 1873 and headquartered in the garden community of Kohler, Wis., Kohler is known for its kitchen and bath products, as well as its engines and generators; furniture and accessories; cabinetry and tiles; and resort, recreation and real estate services. The company, with more than 20,000 employees worldwide, is one of the oldest and largest privately held companies in the United States.
New to online sourcing, Kohler Purchasing Supervisor Tony Hess and his team realized the power of strategic sourcing solutions, including significant savings, increased buyer efficiency and process improvement. After a careful assessment of sourcing solutions providers, Kohler chose Procuri, in part of the ease-of-use of its solution.
"We selected Procuri not only based on the functionality of its solutions but for its experience and commitment to helping companies like ours achieve rapid [return on investment (ROI)]," said Hess. "Because we have a variety of spend categories across numerous company divisions, we needed a solution that was versatile enough to accommodate our current needs, yet scalable enough to grow with our company."
Procuri recently added several enhancements to its suite of sourcing solutions, including such functions as expressive bidding, historical pricing and RFx templates, intended to give companies the tools they need to streamline their sourcing process.
"Procuri is focused on driving growth by empowering our customers with the tools they need to enhance supplier communication, reduce inventory and better manage their global spend," said Mark F. Morel, Sr., Procuri's president and CEO.
