Chooses Glovia to support lean manufacturing goals

El Segundo, CA — June 10, 2004 — Rocknel Fastener, a leading manufacturer of cold-formed fasteners for the automotive industry, said this week that it has selected Glovia International's extended enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, glovia.com, to manage its company-wide operations, from sales and procurement to production, order management and post-sale service.

The company is starting the implementation process this month at both its manufacturing facility and its sales and distribution center with plans to go live by the first of November.

Rocknel Fastener, primarily servicing the domestic Japanese market, said it was encumbered by its legacy system, which was growing more and more outdated and unable to keep up with their business needs. Rocknel Fastener began a long, prudent search process for an ERP solution to better manage its company-wide operations and eventually selected glovia.com.

"glovia.com was the best fit from the standpoint of what we are currently doing as a business and what we intend to do as a business in the future. We also especially liked the strong planning and scheduling functionality, the open database structure and the ability to create reports on demand," stated Jerry Parsons, controller for Rocknel Fastener. "The cost, ease of implementation, and the level of comfort that Glovia provided with their experience in the automotive industry made us confident we could make glovia.com work for our business successfully."

glovia.com's functionality supports every aspect of the product lifecycle, which Rocknel Fastener claimed was especially attractive. Once implemented, glovia.com will enable Rocknel Fastener to respond to customer demands, compress cycle times and information flow throughout the supply chain and allow demand to activate production and procurement operations.

Looking further ahead, Rocknel Fastener said it plans to realign its business processes, with the help of glovia.com, to operate in a leaner manufacturing environment. glovia.com will enable the company to streamline operations by the information that is needed to control processes, coordinate enterprise-wide activities, monitor quality and measure improvements.
