Toronto's Cube Route opens offices in Chicago, Boston; offers Web-based services for tracking, planning, routing

Toronto — September 1, 2004 — Cube Route, a provider of "on demand" logistics services, is expanding into the U.S. market with the opening of new offices in Chicago and Boston to support the needs of U.S.-based organizations looking to reduce operational costs and improve service through increased visibility into the supply chain.

The provider's logistics solution, offered as a service, is designed to help organizations with private or dedicated fleets cost effectively streamline and gain visibility into "last mile" delivery operations. It is already addressing the needs of a number of customers delivering in the United States, including Peapod, according to Cube Route.

Derek Cunniam, vice president of sales at Cube Route, will head up the company's U.S. sales operations. With more than 20 years of experience in software sales and supply chain management, Cunniam and his team are focusing their attention on companies in such industries as foodservice, direct-to-store delivery, retail and field services.

Cube Route said its Internet-based, "on demand" logistics service combines tracking, planning and routing functionality with the simplicity of service delivery through the Web. It is offered on a pay-as-you-go basis, providing users with visibility into their delivery operations in real time.
