Semiconductor company taps Adexa for real-time ATP solution to supplement SAP's native order scheduling

Los Angeles — September 10, 2004 — Semiconductor company Analog Devices has implemented a supply chain planning system from Adexa as part of an initiative to deliver real-time available-to-promise (ATP) information to its customers.

Headquartered in Norwood, Mass., Analog Devices employs approximately 8,700 people worldwide. It is a leading manufacturer of precision high-performance integrated circuits used in analog and digital signal processing applications, and the company has manufacturing facilities in Massachusetts, California, North Carolina, Ireland and the Philippines.

Analog has implemented Adexa's Enterprise Global Planning System (eGPS) solution to provide its customers with real-time, accurate delivery dates and to facilitate both scheduling and rescheduling of orders within the company's SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

Adexa's ATP solution is integrated on a real-time basis with Analog Devices' SAP ERP system. Customer orders entered into SAP are automatically routed to Adexa ATP and scheduled based on configurable business rules. These rules take into account on-hand inventory, future material availability, customer priorities and sophisticated allocation logic.

Order delivery dates are returned to SAP virtually instantaneously. Rescheduling logic also ensures that order delivery dates are pulled in when supply conditions improve, while ensuring that existing order commitments are not negatively affected.

"Analog is committed to delivering the highest possible levels of service and value to our customers, and exceeding the expectations of our stakeholders," said Gerry Dundon, Analog's vice president of planning and logistics. "Adexa contributes to the achievement of both objectives by delivering real-time commit dates to customer orders and by removing time and costs from the supply chain planning and order scheduling processes."

Dundon added that the Adexa ATP deployment has increased the effectiveness of the company's SAP system, which had difficulty handling the complex business and allocation logic that Analog's business required.

"Analog Devices has earned the confidence and trust of some 60,000 customers by solving their complex engineering challenges with innovative products," observed Cyrus Hadavi, Adexa's president and CEO. "Adexa's role is to ensure customer service and operational efficiencies are maximized."
