Grand Rapids, MI — October 22, 2004 — Travel gear manufacturer Eagle Creek is set to use supply chain execution (SCE) solutions from Provia in a bid to optimize its supply chain and speed up product delivery to retailers nationwide.

Based in Vista, Calif., Eagle Creek specializes in delivering packing solutions that provide travelers better and easier ways to navigate the ever-changing world of travel.

To more effectively distribute Eagle Creek's wide-ranging products nationwide, Eagle Creek selected Provia's ViaWare WMS (Warehouse Management System) and SPS (Small Parcel Shipping) software products for use at the company's Vista distribution facility.

Eagle Creek will implement the platform independent WMS and SPS with a Windows-based server configuration. "The cross platform capability of ViaWare WMS, combined with its scalability and depth of features allows customers to select the best operational solution for their needs and not be driven to select a platform-centric solution," said Paul Crist, Provia's vice president of sales and marketing.

"We sought a supply-chain solution that would allow us to get our products to retailers faster and more accurately, while meeting their compliance requirements," said Dale Penk, Eagle Creek's chief operating officer. "Provia offered the best solution to meet our needs. The automated receiving and shipping label compliance will allow us to expand our warehousing and distribution functionality to better serve our customers."

"Eagle Creek is a company that strives to develop industry-leading products, and continuously improve on the goods it provides to consumers," added Provia's Crist. "This philosophy is also reflected by the company's infrastructure, and a continual effort to streamline the supply chain, and deliver products to its customers and retailers in an efficient cost effective manner."

Other companies using Provia software include Gillette, Graybar Electric, Lanier Worldwide and Owens Corning.
