OnRobot launched the 2FGP20 Fork,  a standardized, all-electric fork palletizing gripper designed specifically for open boxes, display boxes, and other low-rigidity boxes.

“Palletizing open or low-rigidity boxes has often required custom pneumatic tooling, adding engineering time, cost, and complexity,” says Enrico Krog Iversen, CEO of OnRobot. “The 2FGP20 Fork gives integrators and manufacturers a ready-to-deploy electric alternative that accelerates time-to-value. It also eliminates the need for external compressed air and can be configured for a wide range of palletizing applications.”

Key takeaways:

·       This type of packaging handles box payloads up to 35.2 pounds across major industrial and collaborative robot brands.

·       This out-of-the-box electric solution entails a gripper that lifts packages from underneath and stabilizes them from above with an adjustable top clamp applying 10 N to 40 N of holding force. Four standard fork configurations accommodate different box sizes and palletizing setups.

·       In addition, an integrated electric vacuum pump picks and places interlayer slip sheets up to 5.5 pounds without requiring tool changes or interrupting cycles.
