Cheetah Expects Rapid Growth, Appoints New President and Chief Operating Officer

The former director of worldwide transportation at Amazon joins Cheetah Software Systems as president and COO

Westlake Village, CASept. 3, 2015Cheetah Software Systems named Manish Kapoor president and chief operating officer (COO). Kapoor is one of the leading industry experts in logistics, especially last mile and omnichannel, with a passion for the customer experience and operational efficiency using disruptive technologies. He has run national operations and led technology groups, and above all, he is a respected leader in multiple industries.

Prior to joining Cheetah, Kapoor was the director of worldwide transportation at Amazon where he led initiatives in Asia, Europe and the U.S., including Amazon Fresh and Sunday delivery with the United States Postal Service (USPS). Prior to joining Amazon, Kapoor served at FedEx for over five years as the vice president and managing director of network operations. There, he led the transformation of the FedEx Office operations network, synchronizing the retail stores with centralized production facilities, and transportation with omnichannel, supported by some of the logistics solutions from Cheetah. He set up the first in the world centralized and automated command center for managing distributed print and local delivery across the entire nation. In addition, he led the effort across operating companies at FedEx to design and launch FedEx SameDay City, a local two-hour courier service now live in over 25 cities.

Kapoor was also at Deluxe for 10 years where he led the transformation of the check printing industry from conventional offset to digital printing technology. Prior to that, he helped establish India’s first high-tech pre-press facility for Thomson Press/Living Media, the country’s premier printing and publishing group.

Kapoor is on the advisory board for the Center for Intelligent Supply Chain Networks at the University of Texas in Dallas since 2007 and teaches advanced logistics as guest faculty for the executive MBA program. He has a bachelor of engineering from the University of Pune in India, master of science from the Rochester Institute of Technology, NY and an MBA from Babson, MA
