Fairfax, Va.Oct. 3, 2014ICF Interactive, a business area of ICF International, announced that its commerce technology team was instrumental in the development and launch of two of Australia’s largest and most complex e-commerce sites: www.bookworld.com.au and www.angusrobertson.com.au, part of Australia’s largest publisher, Penguin Random House Australia.

Featuring more than 15 unique integration points, 22 million product shelf-keeping units (SKUs) and more than 1.5 million registered customers, Bookworld and Angus & Robertson required a platform capable of managing large data volumes, but that was flexible and scalable enough to account for future growth.

Bookworld engaged with ICF Interactive and White Labelled, a UXC Limited company, to migrate its web properties to the hybris business-to-consumer (B2C) Commerce Suite. With ICF Interactive leading the technical development and White Labelled providing project management support, the two organizations worked to create a quality experience for Bookworld customers, ease of use for internal teams and a flexible, scalable digital environment capable of addressing Bookworld’s future business needs.

“This launch is a big win for Bookworld, as well as for ICF Interactive,” said Ben Eames, commercial director for ICF Interactive. “Partnerships such as ours with Bookworld and other regional clients, such as Fairfax Media, allow us to help shape the digital landscape in Asia-Pacific.”

“Despite the complexity involved in the integration of multiple supply networks, the platform launched successfully and it now underpins Bookworld’s significant growth by providing customers the cheapest products from the fastest supply source across a massive range of products,” said James Webber, chief executive officer for Bookworld. “There was a huge amount of intellectual property developed during this process, not only at Bookworld, but amongst our integration partners as well, better enabling all of us to tackle future challenges.”

The ICF Interactive team continues to work on an optimized mobile e-commerce experience for Bookworld and Angus & Robertson, with plans to launch in the near future.
