United Arab Shipping Strengthens Global e-Commerce Services

GT Nexus’ cloud-based platform enhances capabilities for UASC customers, improving visibility and reducing costs

Oakland, Calif.Sept. 20, 2013GT Nexus announced that the United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) has selected it to provide transactional e-commerce services. UASC has integrated its operational systems to support bookings, shipping instructions, schedules and shipment status events for multiple customers through the GT Nexus platform.

“Over the past decade, the world’s biggest shippers and 3PLs have proactively instituted transportation and supply chain management control towers in the cloud on GT Nexus,” said Vijay Minocha, head of customer service and e-commerce at UASC. “The ability to fully support our customers in the cloud is essential to delivering the visibility and agility they need to compete today. Partnering with GT Nexus and establishing USAC within their community enables us to better service our customers and empowers them to proactively manage their supply chains.”

Many major ocean carriers are integrated with GT Nexus. Carriers, like UASC, integrate to the platform once and then use that single standardized interface to exchange business information with thousands of GT Nexus customers. The GT Nexus community can now find the UASC, an active and fully certified carrier, capable of meeting their technology information needs.
