Lafayette, La.—July 29, 2013—Logistics provider Apex Freight Services has purchased Timberline Freight Services, a company specializing in full and less-than-truckload transportation of temperature-protected goods. With this acquisition, Apex increases its cold-shipping expertise and gains access to the multibillion-dollar frozen food transportation industry. Apex will retain Timberline’s leadership while centralizing operations in its Lafayette, La. headquarters. Apex is planning for further growth in the next year, both organically and through additional acquisitions.
Apex Freight Services, founded in 2006, specializes in providing safe transportation solutions for the most difficult and hazardous freight — a challenge CEO Tracy Pellerin takes very seriously. “Anyone can move standard freight through normal lanes, we specialize in jobs that other companies are unable or unwilling to take on,” Pellerin said. “We also maintain some of the industry’s strictest safety protocols to make sure both our customers and our company are protected.”
