WAXIE Selects Descartes for Route Planning

Routing and mobile solution to reduce fuel, labor and vehicle costs.

Waterloo, Ontario—June 7, 2013—WAXIE Sanitary Supply selected Descartes Systems Group's cloud-based solution for route planning, dispatch, tracking and mobile proof of delivery (POD) to enhance its delivery operations.

"A key differentiator for our organization is an enduring combination of service excellence, planning for the future, and investing in our people and our business," said Eric Cohen, Vice President of Logistics at WAXIE. "We believe Descartes' leading routing and mobile solution can help us meet our customer service commitments; fund growth by reducing fuel, labor and vehicle costs; and empower our drivers and dispatchers with innovative route management tools."

Descartes' integrated solution optimizes daily route plans and ensures efficient execution of those plans. Integrated GPS tracking and bidirectional mobile communication capabilities facilitate the free flow of information between dispatch and the field to better manage exceptions while providing accurate planned vs. actual performance for continuous performance improvement. The integrated mobile application that provides robust stop-level data collection for management of over, short, and damaged (OS&D) orders, enabled WAXIE to streamline operations and eliminate paper-based processes across its nine distribution centers.
