Software AG Acquires LongJump

Solutions provider expands its SaaS services from the cloud

Reston, Va.April 25, 2013—As part of its growth strategy to expand its own cloud-ready product offering, Software AG acquired LongJump. The Santa Clara, Calif.-based Platform-as-a-Service provider offers capabilities that allow applications to be deployed in public or private clouds, on-premise or to any mobile device.

“The acquisition of LongJump will extend our cloud-ready solutions and allow Software AG customers to rapidly build flexible situational and process-driven applications in the cloud, with minimal development times,” said Jay Johnson, Chief Executive Officer, Software AG North America. “We are committed to meeting and staying ahead of the evolving needs of today’s digital enterprise.”

California-based LongJump currently serves a customer base of more than 220 international companies. It offers a digital platform that enables users to create cloud-based applications independently, easily, quickly and without the need of an IT department. The demand for platforms such as this to efficiently develop applications internally is increasing steadily as enterprises become digital.

At this year's CeBIT trade show in March Software AG announced that it would gradually begin offering its product portfolio as Software as a Service (SaaS) from the cloud.
